A Child Who Lives Forever in His Mother’s Memories
In the city of Minab in Iran, there once stood a small primary school filled with laughter, dreams, and the innocent voices of children learning their first lessons. Among those children was a third-grade boy named Mikhael Mirdoragi — a cheerful little boy who was always seen walking around with a warm and gentle smile.
No one could have imagined that his story would one day become a heartbreaking memory for his mother.
The Night Before the Tragedy
The night before the tragedy was just like any other ordinary evening.
Dinner was ready at home.
His mother lovingly served the food, just as she did every day. Mikhael sat quietly and began eating.
After tasting a few bites, he looked up at his mother. There was a special sparkle in his eyes.
Softly, he said,
“Umma… the food you made tastes like the food of heaven.”
His mother was surprised.
She smiled and asked gently,
"Why are you saying something like that, my son? You’ve never said that before."
But in that moment, the mother had no idea that her child was unknowingly preparing for a journey far beyond that night.
A Night of Prayer
That night, Mikhael did not go to sleep early.
Instead, he spent a long time in prayer. Quietly, he recited verses from the Qur’an.
To anyone watching, it might have seemed like a simple moment of devotion. But later, it felt as if he had somehow sensed something coming — as if he was preparing himself for a journey.
The Last Photo
The next morning, as he was getting ready to go to school, Mikhael made a small request.
He looked at his mother and said,
“Umma… please take a photo of me.”
His mother took the picture with a smile.
At that moment, she never imagined that the photo she had just taken would become the last picture of her son.
The Words He Always Said
Mikhael often used to say something that made everyone around him smile.
He would say,
"My name is Mikhael. Mikhael means the angel of God. If anyone has a wish, tell me… I will make it come true."
Whenever he said this, people would laugh at the innocence of a child who believed he could make everyone happy.
But those words would later echo in the memories of those who loved him.
The Tragedy
Then, the unimaginable happened.
A devastating attack struck the school where children once studied, laughed, and dreamed about their futures.
Missiles hit the school building.
In just a single moment, everything changed.
What was lost was not only a school building.
What was lost were the dreams, laughter, and futures of many innocent children.
Among them… was Mikhael.
A Mother’s Words
Today, his mother remembers her son and says only this:
“Perhaps God loved him so much… that He called him back to Himself so soon.”
Those words carry the quiet pain of a mother whose memories are now filled with the smile of a child who will never come home again.
A Prayer for Innocent Lives
Stories like this remind us of the fragility of life and the deep love that exists between a mother and her child.
To everyone reading this story, there is only one humble request:
Take a moment to remember the innocent children who lost their lives.
Say a prayer for Mikhael and for all the young lives that were taken too soon.
